Matthew 12:38-42
38 Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.” 39 He answered, “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now something greater than Jonah is here. 42 The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, and now something greater than Solomon is here.
There was a time when Jonah, a prophet from the Old Testament, ended up spending three days in the belly of a large fish. It was because he disobeyed God’s Word and did things his own way.
But he repented, turned back, and went to Nineveh. He evangelized the people of Nineveh whom God had threatened to judge. And he made them repent.
He helped them escape God’s judgment by doing that.
To those who asked for a sign, Jesus said, “I have no sign to show you except for the sign of Jonah.”
What is the sign of Jonah?
The sign of Jonah refers to the sign one sees according to one’s deeds.
You should testify for the signs of God’s workings He reveals to you. When you testify for the signs God performs, He will be happy and will show you more signs.
Signs lead to more signs.
Therefore, you must testify. Then more signs will happen in this time period.
I pray that by believing and testifying for God’s signs, many more signs will take place and your wishes will come true.
